Biography

His professional journey spans different cultural and healthcare contexts, encompassing clinical practice, medical education, public health and leadership. Working across different systems and professional environments has given him first-hand insight into how assumptions, communication styles, expectations, hierarchy, trust and professional identity can vary across cultural settings.

These experiences have shaped a particular interest in how people understand one another across difference — and how culture influences communication, leadership, belonging, teamwork and the way professional relationships are formed and sustained.

Professionally, he is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians in Paediatrics and a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Benin and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Global Public Health from Queen Mary University of London.

As Founder of Third Culture Leadership, he explores the often-unspoken cultural forces that shape leadership and professional life. His work focuses on helping individuals and organisations recognise hidden assumptions, reduce avoidable misunderstanding and develop more effective ways of working across cultures.

Alongside his clinical work in paediatrics, he writes and speaks on cultural fluency, leadership, professional development and the human dimensions of working in increasingly diverse environments.

His approach is grounded in the understanding that effective leadership is not only about what we know or what we intend, but also about how our words, behaviours and assumptions are interpreted by people whose experiences may differ from our own.

Third Culture Leadership brings these ideas together through writing, speaking, courses, the Cultural Fluency Questionnaire and other practical resources designed to help people lead with greater awareness, clarity and effectiveness across difference.

Across medicine, leadership and writing, his work reflects a long-standing interest in how culture influences communication, trust, professional identity and the way people work together. His focus remains on helping people understand difference more clearly and collaborate more effectively across cultural and professional boundaries.
